President’s Blog: November, 2014

I am pleased to inform you that the All-Class Reunion held during the Bridge Festival was a success. With a change of venue from the Fire Station to the Jackson Building there was a concern amongst the Alumni Board that the attendance might be smaller. This was not the case and those who attended informed board members that the location was great, food excellent, and enough space to visit and have a conversation. Many alumni stayed throughout the evening visiting with classmates as well as friends from other classes. Needless to say, your alumni board has already planned to hold the event in 2015 at the Jackson Building since this year was such a success. So, see you there in 2015! Plan the date and attend with other classmates or alumni.

A special highlight at the All-Class Reunion was a presentation from Judy Trask of a Quilt of Valor to Mr. Bassett for his service in the military. As you know, Mr. Bassett was a teacher, principal and superintendent of the Winterset School District. Mr. Bassett has always been a supporter of the school district and well deserving of this honor. Judy will also be writing an article for the next Husky about the Quilt of Valor project which is nationwide.

See picture of the presentation attached to this blog. Hope you are pleased with the photo.

Until next month please remember to keep in contact with classmates, plan your next class reunion, support WHS and remain active.
