President’s Blog: December, 2014

Wow! Awesome! I am pleased to announce that the December issue of the Husky Newsletter via email has been sent to those who decided to use this delivery method. There are over 400 members who have chosen this method and will greatly help in production costs. Those getting the newsletter mailed to them can expect to receive it the middle of this month. If you can, please think about having the Husky emailed to you beginning with the next issue in February.

A big thank you to Billie Jo Akers from the WHS Administration Office, Linda Kelly the Alumni Board Secretary and Carol Basset the Husky editor, for working to develop the email addresses of members to receive the Husky electronically. Without their diligence and hard work this process would have not been accomplished.

I would also like to welcome Jennifer (Corkrean) Stover, class of 1990, as a new Alumni Board member. Jennifer has graciously volunteered to be on the Board and I am positive she will help us move forward with new ideas as well as keeping the WHS Alumni Association one of the best in the State of Iowa.

One last thought for the month: December 7th was Pearl Harbor Day and I know of a few students in high school who decided to join the military after the bombing and did not complete high school. Some came back and finished their education and others could not. No matter what the circumstances may have been, we owe them a thank you for their service. I am sending out this THANK YOU from the Alumni Board to those students.

WHS Alumni, enjoy this holiday season with family and friends.

Until next month please remember to keep in contact with classmates, plan your next class reunion, support WHS and remain active.
